Monday, 04.09.2007, 03:33am (GMT-7)

LONDON: A life-size wax statue of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been unveiled at the world famous Madame Tussaud's with the actor stating it has made him a very happy man. Shah Rukh Khan, popularly known "King Khan" by his admirers, accompanied by his wife Gauri came to the museum to the beating of drums.

He later posed for photographs standing next to the statue, the duplicate Khan with a leather jacket on as he had appeared in his latest film "Don". Shah Rukh Khan who spent 15 minutes in the museum, thanked the special team of Madame Tussaud for having worked hard in producing his replica. "Strangely it also makes me sad.

Somehow I feel what would I do next for making me happy and sad at the same time", Shah Rukh, who has acted in over 60 Bollywood films and is currently presenting the popular quiz show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', said. Khan joins Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and beauty queen Aishwarya Rai who made their wax presence in the Museum earlier.

Amitabh Bachchan's wax statue is reportedly watched by 25 lakh visitors to the museum every year. Among the Indian leaders figuring in the Museum are former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. Madame Tussaud's, set up by wax sculptor Marie Tussaud, is a major tourist attraction in London.

One of the major attractions at the museum is the Chamber of Horrors, which features statues of several victims and murderers of the French Revolution. It has branches in Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Las Vegas and New York.
