NEW YORK: Indiart 2008, New York: The Journey unveils for the very first time 26 new works by the biggest stars of the contemporary Indian art world. Presented by the International Institute of Fine Arts (IIFA) in concert with the New York Academy of Art and supported by Deutsche Bank, (private wealth division) as the first step toward a broader partnership and artistic exchange.

This exhibition will introduce these paintings for the very first time to an avid New York audience. Some of the artists presenting their works will be Satish Gujral, Subash Awchat, Paresh Maity and Arpana Caur. The event will take place at The New York Academy of Art, Tribeca, NY from April 11 to 17.

Indiart 2008, New York was conceptualized by Satish Kumar Modi and curated by Kalpana Shah. A very eclectic, international community is expected to gather to commemorate the opening of this 7 day exhibition. In an effort to promote contemporary Indian art across the globe, IIFA organizes annual art events internationally.

These exhibitions showcase works by several renowned and up-and-coming Indian artists. Recent exhibitions include: Bali: Power of Peace, London: House of Lords. Upcoming new exhibitions will be on view at London, Tate Britain (May 2008) and tentatively, United Nations (Oct. 2008), NY.

IIFA is a leading college in India, established by Satish Kumar and Abha Modi in July 2000. The aim is to provide quality education to students in the fields of art and design.
