MINNEAPOLIS: Katha Dance Theatre (KDT) presents Concert of the Legends at the O'Shaughnessy Auditorium in Saint Paul with two musical greats of South Asia, Pandit Birju Maharaj, the king of Kathak Dance, Grammy winner Ustad Zakir Hussain in a Special One-Night only performance on June 8.

Incidentally, this will be KDT's 20th anniversary in such a fulfilling way. This activity is made possible, in part, by funds provided the McKnight Foundation, individual contributions and the Katha Dance School. Rita Mustaphi, the award-winning performer and founder/artistic director of the Theatre said "We are very fortunate and thrilled to have these true legends in the Twin Cities.

"Ustad Zakir Hussain is phenomenal to watch and of course it is a tremendous honor to have my mentor and my guru, Pandit Birju Maharaj, perform his world-renowned skill of Kathak dance." she said.

The expressions and grace found in Kathak dance accompanied by the fiery emotions evoked by the musicians will bring strokes of brilliance and fully unique 'jam sessions' making this concert a one-of-a-kind experience, she added.
