Snoop Dogg in Bollywood
Sunday, 06.29.2008, 11:06pm (GMT-7)

NEW YORK: That Akshay Kumar will shoot the title track of Singh Is Kinng with Snoop Dogg (who pioneered the ascendance of West Coast 'g-funk' rap) is common knowledge.

It seems that Snoop's entire team has taken on the task of conceptualizing and planning the entire shoot at a whopping cost of 7 crore rupees. "They're working very hard on the video, which will be shot in LA soon," remarks producer Vipul Shah. "I'd always heard of Snoop but never met him.

I still haven't, in fact. Our negotiations happened on the phone and through e-mail. His association with the film will draw a lot of non-Asian media and audience attention internationally," adds Vipul. "Snoop has seen many Akshay songs and is excited.

It's going to be something new for him as well. He plans to incorporate a lot of Bollywood elements in the video." While the video of the title track is likely to release on television closer to the release of Singh Is Kinng, the song is likely to be the first one on the soundtrack, which releases later this week in the market.
