Pandit Kishor enamors LA with Sitar recital

LOS ANGELES: The visiting North Indian Classical Musician, Pandit Kishore Chakraborty presented an enamoring sitar recital at the Bangladesh Academy Center, Los Angeles on April 25 and June 13.

He presented Classical sitar performance on Raga Jhinjhoti and Joyjoyanti on those two nights. His presentations lasted over an hour (each night). The very talented and excellent Tabla artist Pandit Amit Chatterjee was superb.

The gifted young tabla artist Pial Hossain was worth mentioning. The audience comprising music lovers listened spell-bound and was overwhelmed with immense joy on the performance of Kishore Chakraborty.

He is the disciple of Pandit Nikhil Banerjee, Pandit Bipin Basu (Disciple of Ustad Enayet Ali Khan), Professor Subrata Roy Chowdhury and Pandit Moni Lal Nag. He was the Music Director of Nandikar Theater Group in Kolkata, India.

He performed and delivered lectures on Indian classical music in Europe and US. Currently he is a visiting teacher at Bangladesh Academy of Los Angeles.
