NEW YORK: Desi television personality Obaid Kadwani is hosting the 28th Annual Asian Pacific American Heritage Festival - the largest outdoor Asian event on the East Coast -- in Union Square Park North, in New York City, on May 6.
The festival runs from 12 noon to 6 pm and Kadwani's co-emcees include Cindy Hsu and Kristine Johnson of CBS News, Sandy Endo and Shazia Khan of NY1 News, as well as Arthur Chi'en of CW11.
The Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans (CAPA), organizer of this prestigious annual event, provide a conducive environment for Asians, Asian Americans and Pan-Asians to utilize their history, culture and art to foster confidence and respect for their heritage.
Kadwani, who appears on Namaste America, said, "I thank CAPA for reaching out to the South Asian community and it is just another example of the mainstreaming of South-Asians. This is a wonderful opportunity for all South Asians to come and see a variety of singers, dancers, bands and other acts for free."
