Dish Network sweepstakes for South Asian subscribers

NEW YORK: EchoStar Communications Corporation and its Dish Network satellite South Asian & Urdu TV programming service announced the launch of a nationwide sweepstakes campaign.

All existing and new subscribers of the South Asian Mega Pack package will be automatically entered for a chance to win two Business Class tickets to Mumbai where they will meet with Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam; existing and new subscribers of the Pak Mega Pack will be automatically entered for a chance to win two Business Class tickets to Karachi where they will meet with singing star Shezad Roy.

The sweepstakes runs through August 15. The winner of the South Asian Mega Pack drawing will be able to take a companion to Mumbai, where they will stay at a five-star hotel for three days and two nights and meet with Nigam.

As an added bonus, new subscribers will also get 1 month free of the Mega Pack package when they sign up. The Mega Pack, available for $54.99 a month, consists of ZEE TV, Sony TV, TV Asia, Sahara One, Sahara Samay, Aaj Tak, Headlines Today, B4U Movies, ZEE Cinema, SET Max, B4U Music and the radio service Asian FM. "Dish Network is the leader in South Asian entertainment, so it was natural that we bring such an opportunity to our subscribers," stated Tracy Thompson West, vice president of Dish Network.

In 2007, Dish Network will be involved with the South Asian community on an interactive level by participating in local events, supporting Bollywood concerts and shows like The Incredibles with Sonu Nigam and Asha Bhonsle, the AR Rahman-Third Dimension tour and various other community programs.

"We value the South Asian & Urdu community and their loyalty to Dish Network and have therefore set forth many community involvement programs in the coming months. Dish network is the people's platform and we would like to be part of the fabric of this community," added Thompson West.
