MANHATTAN, NY: On August 15, renowned designer Payal Singhal paraded her latest Resort collection in New York City. Upwards of 300 South Asian A-listers from New York and New Jersey attended the event that was held at the ultra chic PM lounge in Manhattan's meat packing district.

The event was sponsored by a host of elite brands including Western Union, Nationwide, Time Warner Cable (Bollywood Movies on Demand International - Channel 500), the Mehtani Restaurant Group and Going.com. There was also a silent auction, proceeds of which went to a human rights charity called Breath Through.

The packed event was managed by leading South Asian advertising and event agency, Touchdown Media and party promoter Sameer Shroff.

The event also celebrated India's 60th Independence anniversary with sponsor reps talking about their brands and wishing everyone a Happy Independence Day.
