Minister launches Kerala IT Alliance website

NEW YORK: India's Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahamed inaugurated the website for Kerala IT Alliance (KITA), a newly formed organization that comprises mainly IT Professionals from Kerala, with the objective of helping Kerala becomes one of the premier IT hubs in India. Ahamed lauded the members for their renewed commitment to India and Kerala in particular and encouraged its membership to collaborate with IT initiatives for mutual benefit.

The website launch was held at Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City on Nov 30, and attended by several IT Professionals and entrepreneurs from the US. M.A. Gondane, Deputy Consul General of New York congratulated the members of KITA and asked them to explore opportunities at the micro level in a fast growing economy in India. "Individual entrepreneurs in India today can do a lot without any handholding from the state," he said.

George Abraham, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KITA explained some of the goals and objectives of KITA to the Minister and added that "this initiative is all about bringing together IT Professionals of Kerala Origin in the US and to leverage their knowledge and skill set to help Kerala move forward in IT development".

Members of the KITA Board of Directors Chacko Pallathucheril, Daniel Mohan, U.A. Naseer, Millon Jose, Vinod Preethinivas and Sunny John were also present on the occasion. The members expressed gratitude to Tom Vellaringattu of kerala.com who has designed the website for KITA.
