India Post News Service

SAN JOSE: San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed inaugurated Sonasoft Corp's expanded R&D office headquarters facility on Camden Avenue in San Jose on May 3. Sonasoft added almost 200 new customers in 2006 and had a revenue growth of 150 percent. Mayor Reed was the chief guest at the ribbon cutting ceremony.

It was also attended by San Jose Councilmember Nancy Pyle, Sonasoft Board members Andy Khanna, Dr Romesh Japra, Garrett Rajkovich and W. Patrick Kelley, Sr. and company employees and well wishers. Mayor Reed said that San Jose remains the capital of Silicon Valley. "Brainpower is here, venture capital is here" and it is "easy for companies to start and grow a business; for tech companies to stay here and grow here".

He said that "the convergence of many technologies leads to great innovations" and makes San Jose the Technology and Innovation Capital. Talking about outsourcing, he said that it is balanced by insourcing. "Some things invented here make it possible to run a global empire" and one of the things San Jose does is "export jobs to the rest of the US and the world".

He said "people are welcome, immigrants are welcome" in San Jose which has added 15,000 people every year for the last five decades. "San Jose needs people; it doesn't care where they come from". "Supporting driving industries to stay here and grow here is a top priority of my administration. Sonasoft is a driving industry software company that we're proud to have housed in San Jose. Its presence and expansion in San Jose is testament to the fact that San Jose remains ranked as the top community of innovators in the US and continues to attract the most talented engineers and scientists from all over the world.

I wish Sonasoft President and CEO Andy Khanna and his employees the very best of luck in the future," said Mayor Chuck Reed. A few decades ago, when Andy Khanna moved to San Jose, he was told that he was moving to 'hick' town. He did not listen and still lives and works in San Jose. He said, "We are extremely happy to be expanding in San Jose.

Our facility here will serve as the R&D driver for our global operations and marketplace presence. We are thankful to Mayor Reed and other local officials for helping to ensure our path to success. The City of San Jose has given us tremendous support and allowed us to develop and build a product that is winning market share," he said. "Sonasoft's solution is getting rave reviews from customers and experts in the field.

We are the only company that provides a fully integrated solution, and customers really like our offering. And, with San Jose's supply of world-class talent at our doorstep, we have the necessary brainpower to grow and continue to attract top global innovators."
