NEW YORK: More than 70 technology companies, including leaders like IBM, Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services, participated in one of the year's biggest summits held to bring industry and the Federal Administration together on a common platform.
Organized under the auspices of the US-India Business Alliance and the Congressional Task Force on U.S.-India Trade, the annual summit is one of the highlights of the technology events calendar in the nation's capital. "The summit provided a useful insight into understanding needs of government departments as well as how to align our product lines and services to their requirements, while bidding for Federal contracts" a participant said.
Executives from some of the leading private sector organizations from across the country attended the event. Speakers included Daniel G. Mintz, CIO, Department of Transportation; Barry C. West, CIO, Department of Commerce; James Van Derhoff, CIO, Department of State; Scott Charbo, CIO, Department of Homeland Security; Jerry Williams, Deputy CIO, Department of Agriculture; Bajinder Paul, Deputy CIO, Department of Housing & Urban Development; Kenneth G. Calabrese, CTO, Department of Health and Human Services; Edward Roback, Associate CIO, Department of Treasury; Linton Wells II, Principal Deputy CIO, Department of Defense; Cathy J. Read, Director, Acquisitions Management, Department of State.
USIBA will be arranging follow up meetings in the coming months.
