Wyndham Hotels and Resorts Appoints Food and Beverage Executive

PARSIPPANY, NJ: Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, part of the Wyndham Worldwide family, have announced the appointment of Fernando Salazar as vice president of food and beverage. Salazar, who reports to Peter Strebel, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts president, will be responsible for growing and maximizing top line revenues, controlling costs, enhancing the guest experience and satisfaction and spearheading efforts to deliver innovative and memorable dining experiences.

He will work closely with managers of Wyndham hotel restaurants. "Fernando is an accomplished professional who has developed award-winning restaurant concepts and created highly successful food and beverage programs," said Strebel. "His creativity, passion and experience are sure to enhance the Wyndham food and beverage program and enable us to deliver even more enticing offerings to guests." Salazar comes to Wyndham Hotels and Resorts with more than 30 years' food and beverage experience.

Most recently, he was vice president, food and beverage, for Omni Hotels in Irving, Texas, a position he accepted after serving as the director of operations for the Omni San Antonio and Omni Houston Westside hotels in Texas. Earlier in his career, Salazar was director of food and beverage at the Westin Cincinnati in Ohio and Westin Williams Center in Tulsa, Okla.

He also held various positions including associate director of food and beverage; director of restaurants and multiunit restaurant manager at the Westin Williams Center in Houston; acting food and beverage director at the Westin Galleria in Dallas; assistant director of food and beverage at the Westin Galleria; and director of restaurants and multiunit restaurant manager at the Westin Oaks in Houston. Salazar previously spent three years working with Las Brasas, a Colombia company that operates restaurants in five South American countries.

He began his career at the St. Moritz Hotel, New York. He received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Queens College, New York. Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, a subsidiary of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation (NYSE: WYN), offers upscale hotel and resort accommodations throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean. All hotels are either franchised or managed by Wyndham Hotels and Resorts or an affiliate.
