Arrow Electronics launches recovery appliances

 SAN JOSE, CA: Sonasoft Corp., provider of SonaSafe Integrated backup, high-availability and disaster recovery software announced the launch of affordable backup and disaster recovery (DR) appliances through the North American Components (NAC) business unit of Arrow Electronics. Arrow offers an integrated, Intel-based appliance with Sonasoft’s SonaSafe software on its white box servers.

The appliance is targeted at the small and medium businessss (SMB) market and has many key capabilities. The appliance offers an affordable fully integrated hardware/software solution, quick implementation and increased productivity, ability to easily scale based on customer needs and easy integration into current environment.Sonasoft is a member of the Intel® Enabled Server Acceleration Alliance (ESAA). As part of the Intel ESAA program, Sonasoft certified its award-winning software on Intel-based server platforms. Sonasoft provides certified SonaSafe solution recipes to Intel OEM channel partners around the globe that are members of ESAA.

“There is a great need today for cost-effective backup and DR appliances. We are collaborating with Intel and Sonasoft to offer a unique solution to the end customer. We strongly believe that these appliances will be well received by our customers and channel partners” said Rob Balson, director of business development, Arrow NAC.“Sonasoft is delighted to work with Intel and Arrow.

A backup and disaster recovery appliance built on an Intel-based server will open up tremendous opportunity for channel partners and will offer an affordable, plug-and-play solution for the end-user,” said Rick Caylor, vice president of Sales at Sonasoft.“Arrow and Sonasoft fill a great need in the marketplace for backup and disaster recovery by offering an automated solution based on Intel servers.

Sonasoft’s high-availability solution is a great addition to the Intel ESAA program,” said David Brown, marketing director for Intel’s Enterprise Platforms and Services Division.
