Jet Airways' San Francisco launch rescheduled Sunday, 04.13.2008, 10:14pm (GMT-7) NEW YORK: Jet Airways, India's leading airline, is commencing daily service from San Francisco International Airport to Shanghai and India this summer. The airline it is now finalizing the regulatory approval process with the aim of starting the service on June 14 instead of the originally scheduled May 5. With this launch, Jet Airways will become the first Indian airline to fly from San Francisco to Mumbai and only the second airline worldwide to fly nonstop from San Francisco to Shanghai. The flight from San Francisco International Airport will also be the airline's fourth daily North American departure to India, following new launches of service from New York's JFK and Newark airports, and Toronto Pearson International Airport, within the past year.
