AI announces 'one price' India fare Tuesday, 04.22.2008, 11:58pm (GMT-7) NEW YORK: India's largest airline, Air India, is offering a special Economy Class "One Price India" fare of $599 round trip from New York's JFK International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport to Mumbai, Delhi, as well as over 40 other cities in India served by the carrier. The fare, good for travel until May 15, applies to any of Air India's direct and non-stop flights from JFK to India departing Sunday through Thursday, and returning Monday through Friday. A weekend surcharge of $25 each way applies to flights on Friday and Saturday to India, and Saturday and Sunday from India. The minimum stay is the first Sunday after departure, and the maximum stay is four months.Fare Conditions: A Press release issued by the Airlines says, "Travel must be on Air India operated flights from New York City to India; flights within India must be on Air India or Indian Airlines designated flights. Tickets are non-refundable." All flights must be confirmed prior to issuance of tickets, according to the Press release.Departure taxes, airport security and other fees, and fuel surcharges (ranging from approximately $371 to $471), are not included. Seats are limited at these special fares and may not be available on all flights. Other restrictions may apply. Fares are subject to change without notice" the AI release says. Air India is India's national carrier. The airline has been in operation since 1932, and currently offers service to India from New York (JFK and Newark), Chicago, Los Angeles, and Toronto.
