LOS ANGELES: The prosecutor in the Anand Jon case rushed to pull a Grand Jury back in September 2007. It was exposed in court on February 27 that she hadn't even reviewed the information that was generated from the computers taken from the Anand Jon studio.

If her contention is that these supposed sexual assault allegations is a virtual crime then wouldn't the first investigation be into the very hard drives of the computers that are the basis of the allegations? Keep in mind also that grand juries occur in less than 3 percent of the criminal cases in the US, and in this case even before half of the witnesses were interviewed. And it not only occurred once, but five separate times. In the grand jury there is no defense cross examination so what is the DDA trying to hide? In court the judge discussed the prosecutor's vacation plans that interfered with the setting of the trial date for Anand Jon.

This is the very same prosecutor who was in such a hurry to rush to grand jury and change venue from Beverly Hills to downtown LA, but now she refuses to change her prepaid holiday plans which keeps Anand Jon in jail. Anand Jon clearly was troubled by the delay. His attorneys stated that "Mr. Jon wants to fight these accusations as soon as possible.

He looks forward to his day in court and vindication from these allegations". If there is still a six month delay, so what was the hurry to file 59 counts, pull a secret Grand Jury without any research and let a majority of the complaining witnesses file charges over the telephone even without a personal interview? But now that Anand Jon remains in custody, that same prosecutor argued there was still a lot to be done and since her "vacation was prepaid" Anand Jon must sit in solitary being punished prematurely and without conviction.

When he prevails how does one get that time back? And what of the accusers? Did the Duke University accuser spend one day in jail? No. They never prosecuted her for admittedly lying, incarcerating those poor boys with them spending almost $5 million in defense. The defense pointed out that there was over 1000 pages of discovery that one of the detectives from BH stated was very favorable to Anand Jon from seized computers are being held by the prosecution as she claims she has not had the time to look at it yet.

The question is, it's is almost one year since the arrest and the prosecution has not even looked at key evidence yet? How can they file 59 counts and hold a secret Grand Jury without finishing much of the work? A source that did not want to be identified stated that the discovery has highly exculpatory evidence that is so revealing as many of the complaining witnesses are having intimate chats, inviting and sexual content before and even after the alleged assaults and several send enticing, provocative images and videos. The refusal of the prosecutor to hand over the discovery (at least for now) has also prompted the judge to authorize a defense computer expert to go in and examine the seized computers directly.

This computer investigation and saved IM chats could be a whole can of worms for the prosecution as they intentionally hid the personal relationships and exchanges between the complaining witnesses and Anand Jon and may have shocking details as to who was actually chasing who.

The consequences for complaining witnesses who may have told blatant lies on the stand could be very serious by the time of trial. It seems that more the information comes out the fact is the case indicated a well knit conspiracy of jealousy, scorn and financial motives. Majeed Memon, one of the world's most respected lawyers arrived from India to study this case and was pleased to find himself as "a guest" of the court by Judge Wesley and took acute notes to report back to India. Memon could not believe his eyes seeing Anand Jon dragged in chains and in solitary confinement. If nothing it has only inspired him to take up this cause internationally. On March 2 in Artesia CA there was a candlelight vigil for Anand Jon.

Memon, Dr Jay Shah, Sanjana Jon and Shashi Abraham addressed the crowd and the media declaring Anand Jon's innocence and pleading for the prosecution to be fair. Gibran Sean sang several songs including "Disloyal" that was re-written focusing on the Anand Jon accusers.

There is a music video planned as well where he hopes to convey what he feels is a great injustice. Supporters are not just from the Indian community as in the case of Vicky Light, who owned a modeling agency and knows first hand the vindictiveness of girls in the industry. Anand Jon's family and Memon took the red eye from LA to NY to arrive on March 3 in New York City.

The extension of Anand Jon's Jeanisis jeans contract was signed by the Wall Street investors. Then a press meet on the steps of the Gothically regal architecture of City Hall featured NY defense attorney William Petrillo joining Majeed Memon, Sanjana Jon, Shashi Abraham, and a rash of community leaders and supporters. Echoes of the Duke case were brought up.

The question is will Jon's case be a case for prosecution misconduct for future law students to study? Petrillo reminded that "just because a person, or several people for that matter, repeat the same implausible tale, does not make that tale suddenly plausible."

He also stated that there were "no 911 calls, no screaming girls running down the street, not even a knock on the neighbor's door requesting assistance. It all seems very suspicious that they'd magically appear years later claiming these false allegations only when his company receives Wall Street funding. We look forward to exposing the truth."
