CHICAGO: A group of Indian community activists led by Ravi Rawat of India House, Cecil Joseph of IDF USA, Prashant Mohanty an Oriya community leader and others hosted a musical concert with prominent Saregama singer Sniti Mishra and local artist Chetan Saini to raise funds for Uttarakhand victims.
The program on Saturday September 7 at India House Banquet Schaumburg was attended by 300 plus attendees from Metro. Versatile stage artists Noman Khan and Nishma Patel performed for all those present. This was followed by a slide show highlighting natural calamity and its sufferings with a humble request by Amitabh Bachchan to help the victims of the floods.
Without further ado, Sniti Mishra the Saregama singing star started her program enthralling the audience with the popular Bollywood numbers. Sniti continued to sing for two hours and it was Chicago’s very talented singer Chetan Saini’ s turn who was at his best while singing new songs.
After a short dinner break, Sniti took over the stage once again followed by Chetan Saini and both were fabulous as duo. Overall the singers, the musicians, the band, the emcees, the video and the format of the program made it one of the most memorable evenings for Chicagoans.
