MUMBAI: On the surface, Bangistan, starring Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat, is a comedy about two blundering terrorists on a mission to change the world. But at its core, it is all about the ‘Bromance’.
The concept of Bromance in Bollywood was actually pioneered by the makers of Bangistan, Excel Entertainment, with Indian audiences first seeing it in Dil Chahta Hai.
Speaking about the bond between the lead actors, the film’s producer Ritesh Sidhwani said, “Bangistan is about two unlikely people finding themselves and eventually becoming buddies in the most unusual circumstances through their journey. It’s funny and quirky. Both Riteish and Pulkit enjoyed each other’s company while shooting the film, which translates on screen.”
Debutant director, Karan Anshuman added, “Bangistan makes for a most unlikely Bromance because the lead characters are antithetical in every manner, making their journey a real blast.”
Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar have really captured the essence of a Bromance in Bangistan, and Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat’s antics together will have audiences everywhere in stitches.
This summer, audiences will be entertained and educated in equal measure as the hysterically funny ‘Bangistan’ comes to cinema screens internationally.
