OAKLAND, California: Bollywood singers Sonu Nigam and Neha Kakkar delivered an electrifying performance here June 16 in a four-hour concert billed as “ Klose to Life,” presented by Sankara Eye Foundation. Shree Balaji productions were the national promoter of the tour.
The popular duo proved succeeded in bringing their fans together in great numbers to the Oracle Arena, Oakland. The composition of the musical show, called “Klose to My Life,” came to life with a 35-piece symphony orchestra that accompanied the singers as they enthralled the Bay Area audience with a mix of their old classics and new releases.
Sonu, the one name is known for transcending eras, lending his soulful voice to various successful tracks for over two decades returned to the stage to deliver a mesmerizing performance. With more than 500 chartbusters to his credit and a host of awards under his belt, an extraordinary talent with a zeal to surpass his own targets and a performer par excellence, Sonu is a superstar, an icon to millions of music lovers across the globe. His concerts are a rage worldwide.
Clad in a black suit, he came onto the stage with around 9 p.m. From the very beginning, he owned the stage and showed that he is not only a great singer but also a complete performer and an entertainer. He started off with the song “Shukran Allah” followed by a patriotic number from Rang De Basanti with the Indian flag’S colours lighting up the stage.
Neha Kakkar took Bay area by storm, with an energetic performance that kept her fans asking for more. The packed audience present at the gig had plenty to cheer about as Neha belted out her chartbusters, including “Kaala Chasma”, “Aankh Maarey”, “London Thumakda”, “Dilbar” and her latest hit “Coca Cola Tu”.
The show was a fundraiser for Sankara Eye Foundation. To date, SEF India has performed over 1.75 million free eye surgeries for the needy. SEF India offers total speciality eye care services, including preventative, curative and rehabilitative.
