Front ranking Indian Community activist from Schaumburg Township Nimish Jani was recognized by Illinois Senate for his services as a Schaumburg Township trustee for a decade. The initiative was taken by Illinois Senator Laura Murphy by sponsoring a proclamation in the Senate last week.
Nimish Jani has been a resident of Schaumburg Township for over 32 years. He has served the community in various organizations (Lions Club, Kiwani, Boy Scouts, & BAP Charities). He has a degree in Physics and Mathematics and he holds a diploma in Journalism. He assisted in recruiting, mentoring, and leading campaigns for candidates for local and State agencies. Besides helping various charities and civic organizations, he has volunteered time with Boy Scout Troop 493.
His varied interests reflected in hisassociation with National Cadet Corps – Navy Student Uniform Group, India; Chairman of Indian American Republican Organization; National Board Member of AASOA (Asian American Store Owners Association); Advisory board Member of AARA Mead West (Asian American Retailers Association); Chair: State of Illinois Asian American Employment Advisory Plan Committee; Director of Illinois Lottery Board and State Central Committeeman – 8th Congressional District.
