FREMONT: November this year will be a time of great change as elections will be held in USA. People will choose leaders at many levels, ranging from the President to city council members. Anu Natarajan, currently Vice Mayor of Fremont, is campaigning to be elected mayor in the upcoming elections. If she wins, she will be the first Indian-American woman to become mayor of a US city.
On September 23, FIA Chairman Dr. Romesh Japra held an elaborate reception to raise funds for her campaign. Attending were many local community and political leaders. Dr. Japra introduced Anu, recounting her contributions to Fremont over the past six years.
In an exclusive interview, Anu emphasized her urban planning background and how she would use it to develop Fremont into a swiftly expanding, economically successful city. She also highlighted the benefits of Fremont’s unique ethnic and cultural build.
