FREMONT, CA: The 33rd Festival of Globe (FOG) India Day Festival of Fremont lit up the Bay Area this past weekend with vibrant celebrations of culture, community, and diversity. Drawing thousands of residents from across the Bay Area, the festival transformed downtown Fremont into a hub of music, dance, food, and cultural pride.
With 150 booths showcasing businesses, nonprofits, arts, crafts, cuisine, and community services, the festival offered something for everyone from traditional Indian delicacies to local entrepreneurs and cultural exhibits. The streets of Fremont came alive with the spirit of India, while also highlighting the Bay Area’s multicultural vibrancy.
“FOG India Day is more than just a festival — it is a unifying platform that brings together people of all backgrounds to celebrate culture, community, and service,” said Dr Romesh Japra, Chairman, FIA. “We are proud to see the event grow year after year, reflecting the strength and diversity of our community.”
The festival also featured live performances, parades, and cultural programs, attracting families, youth, and community leaders alike. The grand celebration continues to serve as a symbol of unity and pride for the Indian diaspora and Bay Area residents.
The Festival of Globe (FOG), a nonprofit organization, has hosted the India Day Festival in Fremont for more than three decades. The event has become one of the largest Indian American festivals in the United States, honoring India’s Independence Day while showcasing cultural harmony and civic engagement.
FOG India Day Celebrates Young Talent at Kids Corner
The FOG India Day celebration, held on Saturday, August 16th, featured a vibrant Kids Corner that showcased the artistic skills of young participants. The highlight of the event was a coloring contest for kids, which drew enthusiastic participants across various age groups.
The winners of the coloring contest were:
