ORANGE CA: The Peace Center of Los Angeles successfully hosted its 10th Annual Health & Wellness Seminar, themed “Healthy Heart & Peaceful Life,” at Tandoor Cuisine of India in Orange, California. The event approx 100 attendees. This event was held in loving memory of longtime supporter and member of Peace Center late Shri Ramesh Ramnani Ji.
The seminar opened with a warm welcome by Chair Ashok Madan, followed by inspiring cultural performances including a Ganesh Stuti dance by Natyashetra Dance School students and a soulful rendition of “Ye Malik Tere Bande Hum” by Rajeshwari Kulkarni. Ila Mehta, Founder of the Peace Center, shared the mission and vision of the organization, emphasizing its focus on community wellness.
Medical experts led an educational seminar on heart health, offering evidence-based guidance and practical wellness strategies. Key speakers included Dr. Jayesh Shah, Capt. Aparna Hande, RN, MSHCA, Dr. Rohini Joshi, Dr. Satinder Swaroop, Dr. Narayan Devaraj, Dr. Gunvant Mehta, Jigna Mehta, and Dr. Jayshree Vyas. The seminar also recognized youth leaders advocating for heart health awareness, highlighting the importance of empowering the next generation.
A fundraising segment inspired by compassionate request for donations by Ashok Patnaik and Bani Mukherjee, raised over $1,000, demonstrating the community’s dedication to supporting health initiatives. Official proclamations from Councilwoman Zeel Ahir and Mayor Ali Sajjad Taj honored key leaders, including Ashok Madan, Dr. Jayesh Shah, and Capt. Aparna Hande, and Kewal Kanda recognizing their contribution to wellness and public service.
The evening concluded with a moving tribute to Shri Ramesh Ramnani Ji, featuring speeches by community leaders and a classical dance performance by Dhoon Academy. Attendees departed with the enduring message: “A healthy heart begins with a peaceful life.”
