MILPITAS, CA: In a vibrant celebration of connection and community, the Maheshwari Mahasabha of North America (MMNA) hosted one of its most successful singles events to date, in collaboration with India Community Center (ICC) Milpitas. Held on September 13, the all-day in-person gathering catered to young adults aged 21–35 and brought together nearly 50 participants from across the country—including Florida, the Midwest, New York, and the Bay Area.

The event began with casual introductions over coffee, creating a comfortable environment for attendees to start engaging. A variety of indoor and outdoor group activities followed, tailored based on participants’ preferences for the opposite gender to foster more intentional interactions. These activities were designed to encourage conversation, collaboration, and compatibility—all while keeping the atmosphere light and enjoyable.

Local MMNA matrimonial national lead Sumita Somani explained Meal times—including lunch, dinner, and an afternoon chai break—served as ideal opportunities for bonding in a relaxed setting. The event maintained high energy and inclusivity throughout the day, with a thoughtful structure that allowed attendees to engage meaningfully without pressure.

A notable highlight of the day was the presence of a few special participants, including a Netflix show participant and an independent filmmaker. The event also attracted numerous highly accomplished professionals from the tech industry and other fields, showcasing a well-rounded group of well-educated, ambitious individuals.

Importantly, MMNA ensured that all attendees were thoroughly vetted before the event, maintaining a trusted and secure environment. Contact information was only shared with mutual consent, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to privacy and respect.

Participants—both first-timers and veterans of similar events—offered overwhelmingly positive feedback. “This was hands down the best singles meet I’ve attended,” said one returning participant. First-time attendees echoed similar sentiments, appreciating the engaging activities and the natural flow of conversation throughout the day.

With a well-balanced gender ratio, a dynamic mix of regions and professions, and a clear focus on quality interactions, the event set a new benchmark for community-led singles gatherings.

Encouraged by the success, MMNA and ICC Milpitas are already exploring opportunities for future events to continue fostering meaningful connections among young Maheshwaris, Agarwals, Oswal and Jains with similar backgrounds in North America.
