SAN FRANCISCO, CA: The Bay Area’s Indian American community came together in a powerful show of unity and pride on Thursday, November 20th, to celebrate the historic Bihar Victory, in an event organized by the Overseas Organization of Better Bihar in collaboration with prominent NRI leaders across San Francisco.
The celebration brought together leaders and representatives from multiple organizations, with Dr. Romesh Japra attending on behalf of Americans4Hindus (A4H). He was joined by Rajesh Verma, Ashish Khurana, and Chandru Bhambhra from the Fremont Hindu Temple. Several Board Members of the Bihar Organization also participated and shared their reflections on the significance of the win.
A highlight of the evening was an insightful address by Amit Prakash, whose family is closely associated with the Bihar government. He offered a detailed and spirited account of the developments on the ground and emphasized just how remarkable and decisive this victory truly was.
The celebration showcased extraordinary unity among Indian states, with leaders representing major associations from Bihar, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, West Bengal, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Kerala. Prominent organizations such as Americans4Hindus (A4H), Fremont Hindu Temple, Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) and others were also present, underscoring the strength and solidarity of the diaspora.
The event concluded on a patriotic and emotional note with the singing of Vande Mataram, marking the 150th anniversary of the iconic national song this November—filling the hall with pride, nostalgia, and reverence.
This vibrant gathering reflected the growing civic awareness, cultural pride, and collective determination of the Indian American community to stay connected to India’s democratic journey.
