What an incredible start to FOG Idol! Round 1 was a tremendous success, showcasing outstanding talent, passion, and enthusiasm from participants of all ages. A heartfelt thank you to our talented contestants, dedicated judges, volunteers, and the wonderful audience for making the event so memorable.
Congratulations to everyone who auditioned. We look forward to seeing even more amazing performances in the upcoming rounds. The journey has just begun!
The Festival of Globe (FOG) Idol 2026 singing contest audition held on July 18th in Saraswati Hall at Fremont Hindu Temple. FOG Idol is an annual singing competition created by Festival of Globe Founder, Dr. Romesh Japra, as part of the broader Bay Area India Day celebrations and cultural programs
Ritu Maheshwari, FOG Media and Publicity Chair, was instrumental in bringing this partnership, as well as, arranging the overall logistics for the event.
This round had esteemed judges, Alka Bhatnagar ji, Manisha Pathak ji, and Nithyasri ji. They are all classically trained musicians with several years of performing experience.
Outreach chair, FOG Idol Sujata Shrivastav ji and Emcee Ms. Lakshmi Iyer coordinated with all the participants.

Event Details and Structure
Auditions: Round one and two auditions for the 2026 competition take place in July and Grand Finale on August 1st at the Fremont Hindu Temple’s Saraswati Hall.
Participant Scope: Welcomes diverse local talent ranging from children and teenagers to adults.
Grand Walking group in Parade: Scheduled to be held ahead of the annual FOG India Day Parade on Sunday, August 16th at 10 am
