University names Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in their honor
WASHINGTON, D.C. — October 8, 2026
Americans4Hindus proudly congratulates its Trustee Anil Sharma and his wife, Anupama Sharma, on their distinguished recognition by George Mason University, which has named its Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Costello College of Business the Anil and Anupama Sharma Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
The recognition celebrates the Sharmas’ remarkable journey of entrepreneurship, philanthropy, leadership and service, as well as their commitment to education, innovation and creating opportunities for future generations.
Anil Sharma came to the United States from India in 1997 and went on to build 22nd Century Technologies, a successful technology and government contracting company. His journey reflects the power of opportunity, determination and entrepreneurship, while his philanthropy demonstrates a strong commitment to giving back and empowering others.
The newly named center will bring together students, entrepreneurs, faculty and business leaders while supporting innovation, mentorship, entrepreneurship and the development of future ventures.
A notable moment celebrating the recognition brought Anil and Anupama Sharma together with Juan Pablo Segura, former Secretary of Commerce and Trade for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and U.S. Congressman Suhas Subramanyam of Virginia’s 10th Congressional District.
