REDONDO BEACH, CA: An enthusiastic sellout crowd of over 1500 witnessed two magnificent and unforgettable cultural pageants performed as one. The 24th Annual Miss Asia USA and the 8th Annual Mrs. Asia USA Cultural Pageants were presented together onstage at the beautiful Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center.
With thunderous applause and raucous support, the audience enjoyed a truly remarkable and diverse display of Asian cultures performed by the Delegates. The evening’s festivities were hosted by Emmy-nominee David Millbern and the lovely Mrs. Asia USA 2009 Kimberly Vodang.
Following months of painstaking preparation by each Delegate, dreams turned into wonderful reality on Saturday night with the crowning of Four outstanding and deserving Queens. After five categories of intense competition in both pageants, the distinguished panel of judges selected the striking Christine Kan, representing Taiwan, as Miss Asia USA 2012 and the beautiful and talented Nicole Kim, representing Korea, as Mrs. Asia USA 2012. Elizabeth Vo was crowned Mrs. Asia International and Hannah Hwang crowned as Miss Teen Asia USA.
Virgelia B. Villegas, Chairman & President of Virgelia Productions, Inc., produced and directed the show.
Dedication and hard work formed the foundation of self-confidence, intelligence and elegance that the Judges look for in a queen. As the Queens, they will continue the proud tradition of these pageants demonstrating how to bring unity through diversity.
Virgelia went on to say, “I am pleased and proud of all of our wonderful Delegates and I offer them my sincerest gratitude for their participation and hard work. With their continued support we will begin preparations for our 25th Anniversary of Miss Asia USA. In honor of this tremendous milestone, the 2013 Miss Asia USA Cultural Pageant will be an extravaganza as never seen before.”
