ANAHEIM, CA: International India Bazaar has expanded its presence in Southern California with the grand opening of its fifth store, located at 145 E. Orangethorpe Avenue, Anaheim, California. The new outlet aims to serve the Indian community and other residents in and around Anaheim with a wide range of grocery products and fresh vegetarian food.
Ketan Patel and Biren Amin arrived in the United States with a basic understanding of the grocery business. They began their entrepreneurial journey with their first venture in Fullerton, and there has been no looking back since. Building on their success, they have expanded their business to five locations in Fullerton, San Diego, Diamond Bar, Riverside and now Anaheim.
Alongside the grocery store, the new outlet also features Sainath Kitchen, owned and operated by Toral Shah. With 14 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Shah prepares and serves a variety of vegetarian dishes, adding to the store’s appeal as a convenient destination for the local community.
The grand opening was held on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was made particularly special by the participation of the younger generation of the families of Ketan Patel, Biren Amin and Toral Shah.
“Eventually, we have to pass on the baton to the next generation and prepare them to take the business forward,” said Ketan Patel, emphasizing the importance of family involvement and continuity in business.
International India Bazaar stores offer a wide selection of grocery products sourced from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan, catering to the diverse culinary needs of the South Asian community.
Speaking about the company’s future plans, Patel said the group intends to open more outlets across Southern California. He also expressed pride in the new Anaheim store, describing it as the largest grocery store in Orange County.
With its expanded range of grocery products and the addition of freshly prepared vegetarian food, International India Bazaar’s new Anaheim outlet is poised to become a convenient shopping destination for residents in the surrounding areas.
