Picky Pari

Parineeti Chopra has acquired the reputation of being ultra-selective, having turned down plum roles opposite the likes of Akshay Kumar in the remake of the Tamil hit Thuppakki. Murugadoss was very keen to cast her opposite Akshay Kumar. But picky Parineeti was not too kicked by the prospect of doing the role.

Now one hears choreographer-director Remo D’Souza was very keen to cast Parineeti opposite Sidharth Malhotra in his next directorial venture to go on the floors in July-August.

But Parineeti opted to be paired with Sidharth Malhotra in another film, Vinil Matthews’ Hasee Toh Phasee. Now Remo D’Souza has to begin his hunt for a heroine all over again.
She pines to do the usual song and dance routine. “I want to sing and dance and be glamorous on screen. I loved Deepika Padukone’s role in Cocktail. It has songs-dances-glamour, and yet it had a graph. You will be seeing me do all of that in Shaad Ali’s Kill Dill and in Hasee Toh Parineeti says she didn’t sign on too many films because she wanted to be sure of what she accepted after Habib Faisal’s Ishaqzaade. “It’d be the easiest thing in the world for me to sign films for the money. But the roles I got required me to play the typical heroine which I am not willing to do. On the Friday when those films release, I don’t want my parents to be embarrassed. I don’t want to have to explain to my father why I did a certain film.”
