CHENNAI: Lyca Telecom, a subsidiary of UK- based Lyca Mobile, has introduced its post-paid international roaming sim card priced at Rs 250 targeting the corporate customers.
The company, which was offering services to UK customers, expanded its horizon and currently offers the international roaming post-paid SIM cards to Indian customers.
Lyca Mobile CEO, Milind Kangle said the sim would reduce roaming expenses anywhere between 70 and 90 per cent for an Indian customer.
“A customer can call back India at Re one per minute and the incoming is free. The lifetime sim card is free of rent or deposits and works in 13 countries. The sim card is available at Rs 250,” he told reporters here.
According to him, the Indian outbound travelers are expected to reach 50 million by 2030 from the current 15 million and this was the potential the company was looking to encash.
The business travelers were expected to reach to 9.7 million by 2016 from the present 5.6 million, Lyca Telecom General Manager (Global Operations), Amit Vijay Gupta said.
Chief Operating Officer Premanathan Sivasamy, in a statement, said Lyca Mobile was planning to extend its distribution network across Asia, Middle East, Africa. -PTI
