With Salman Khan appearing on ‘Koffee with Karan’, there were bound to be some exclusive revelations. After speaking candidly about his foe-turned-friend Shahrukh Khan, Salman spoke about his alleged ex-flame Katrina Kaif, who is rumored to be currently dating Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor.
In the famous rapid fire round, when KJo asked Salman, who among the directors – Raju Hirani, Rohit Shetty, Karan Johar, Imtiaz Ali, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, would he like to work with, to which Salman replied, ”Karan Johar. But Karan Johar doesn’t want to work with me.”
While Karan resisted by saying, ”That is not true,” Salman snapped saying, ”Don’t lie. Who have you signed next? You have signed Ranbir Kapoor. He is taking everything away from me yaar. This is not fair!”
Interestingly, Salman grabbed many opportunities to take a dig at his alleged ex-flame Katrina and her current rumored beau Ranbir Kapoor. When Salman was asked how would he react if he woke up as Ranbir Kapoor, Salman retorted, ”Salman lucky hai ya main.” The same question when asked with reference to Katrina Kaif, he said, ”Where’s Ranbir?”
Salman, when asked about giving one advice to Ranbir Kapoor, he said, ”Have fun!” and for Katrina Kaif? ”Make sure he (Ranbir) does not have fun!”
Virgin vs Shark!
Salman’s declaration that he’d never had a girlfriend and was a virgin was clearly meant to be taken with a generous pinch of salt. However, we don’t think he was joking when Karan Johar asked him who he would compare to a shark and Salman replied, very pat, “Shah Rukh Khan.”
The two warring Khans, once very good friends, have conducted a public and fairly intense feud for five years after falling out at actress Katrina Kaif’s birthday party in 2008. Just a few months ago, it seemed like the Karan Arjun co-stars were calling a ceasefire after they shared a hug at politician Baba Siddique’s iftaar party in Mumbai.
On Koffee With Karan, Salman was adamant: “I am 100% sure that we will not be best of friends again. He’s got his family and he’s gone his way and I’ve gone my way. He doesn’t need me, I don’t need him.”
This is what happened between him and SRK, in Salman’s words: “Two guys got along fine and then one night they didn’t get along, and that was something that hurt me.”
On a previous Koffee date, SRK famously apologized saying, “If Salman is disturbed with me, then it’s got to do with me. And he’s completely in the right. If anyone who’s loved me has a problem with me, it’s because of me. And, on your show, I’m sorry.”
But a televised apology wasn’t enough for Salman. He told Karan: “He (SRK) could have come that same night and finished it off. He chose not to, so I said let it be. He passes my house four or five times a day. He should have come home at that point of time and rung the doorbell.”
Despite the bad blood between the Khans, Salman has no time for people who badmouth Shah Rukh. He said, “People think they can come and speak bad about him. I don’t permit that at all.”
And so the Salman-SRK saga continues, a plot full of more twists and unexpected moments than Bollywood could have scripted for them.
