BETUL (MP): BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi today claimed that the polling held so far in the country has already decided the exit of the Congress-led UPA government from the Centre.
“Polling held so far has already decided the exit of Congress government from the Centre. Now in the remaining rounds, you will have to ensure that a strong BJP government comes to power in Delhi,” Modi said here.
He was addressing a rally in support of Jyoti Dhurve, BJP candidate and sitting MP from Betul Lok Sabha seat.
Accusing Congress of pushing the country backwards in the last 60 years, Modi urged people to give him only sixty months to turn things around.
He blamed the “mother-son duo” (Sonia and Rahul Gandhi) for this situation and urged people to vote intelligently this time to give an opportunity to a “servant” instead of “rulers”.
Quoting former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who had once said that out of Re 1 that the Centre releases, only 15 paise reaches the beneficiaries, Modi said, “I want to ask the Congressmen where this money goes when Congress is in power in the country.”
“In the last ten years, Congress has damaged India a lot and looted the country like anything,” the Gujarat Chief Minister alleged.
Praising Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Modi said, “As Chouhan pulled Madhya Pradesh out of the list of BIMARU states and put it on the development path, it shows that BJP has potential to change the face of the country.”
Later, while addressing a rally at Chaigaon Makhan in Khandwa Lok Sabha constituency in support of BJP candidate Nandkumar Singh Chouhan, Modi continued to target Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
“The mother-son duo are running the country instead of Manmohan Singh and they have pushed the country into a ditch,” Modi said.
“The Congress-led government has ruined the country completely and the voters, especially in the age group of 18-28 years, whose future is at stake, have a major responsibility to vote for a government that will ensure strong government at the Centre,” he said.
Modi alleged that though the Congress had promised to provide 10 crore jobs to the people, it did nothing. He asked people to ensure 300 seats for the NDA in the polls.
