With the music in mind and rhythm in feet, Mrs Jaya Sharma continues to build her musical empire in Bay Area. She is the Dance Director at Dance Karishma, the academy of various Indian dance forms, from Classical (Kathak) to Bollywood, folk dances like Bihu from Far East to Lavani, Koli, Garba and Dandia from West Coast or the folklores from Kashmir to Kerala.
Mrs Jaya Sharma, disciple of Guru Ranjana Srivastava in Banaras Hindu University and Guru Shambhavi Dandekar, will host the 6th anniversary of her academy as Kathakanjali 2014 at Shirdi Sai Parivaar, 1221 California Circle, Milpitas, on Saturday June 7 from 3:30PM to 5:30 PM.
Admission to the event is free. She extends the invitation to all music lovers. She believes there are 3 main aspects of dancing: Layakaari, Adakari and Taiyari. This event features segments on those aspects, by means of Kathak. After the students’ performance, Mrs Jaya Sharma will conclude the evening with her performance.
