MUMBAI: Actress Preity Zinta, who has filed a police complaint against former boyfriend and business partner Ness Wadia, has ruled out selling her stake in IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab.
The 39-year-old actress also rubbished reports that she was planning to settle in the US.
“A big thank you to all the people for the support. Amazed at how much speculation (there is) in the media. No I’m not selling my stake or settling in the US,” Zinta posted on her Twitter page last night.
The actress said she did not like media speculation on her life.
“So called sources says anything and it’s getting reported. Please no hearsay. There are many important issues in India which are much more news worthy,” she added.
Zinta had filed a police complaint against Wadia on June 12 about the alleged incident that took place inside Wankhede stadium on May 30 when an IPL match was played between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings.
Zinta and Wadia had broken off their five-year-long relationship a couple of years back but continued to share business interest.
The actress in her statement had called it a “fight for respect at my workplace” and said she was left with no option but to take this “stern step” as the incident happened in front of many people.
Wadia dismissed Zinta’s allegations as “false and baseless”.–PTI
