National award winner Dhanush, who made his big Bollywood debut with Raanjhanaa, a film that brought him accolades, will be seen next in R Balki’s Shamitabh.
The film also stars the megastar Amitabh Bachchan and debutante Akshara Haasan. And he (Dhanush) is lucky that he has an unusual honor coming his way. He will be the first recipient of Big B’s baritone.
Says Dhanush, “Mr Bachchan’s voice is probably one of the most emulated voices. Everyone, at some point in their life, has tried out an impersonation of his baritone. And for him to lend his voice to my character is nothing short of a dream. This film will always be special to me not just because I get to share screen space with him, but also because it will always be the film where I speak in the legend’s voice. Everyone wants to be seen with Amitabh Bachchan, but with this film, I got to be him and was connected to the most iconic part of him — his voice that is recognized across the world.”
