CHENNAI: Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore today said the government would be absolutely transparent in the corporate espionage case and not give unfair advantage to anyone.
“I am really not aware. It is a case which is ongoing.
Investigations are happening. I am not aware of what all has been found. The government will work absolutely transparent and there will be no unfair advantage. I am sure the government was onto them meaning that we have to nip such things in the bud,” the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting told reporters here.
He was replying to a question regarding the scandal which came to light with the arrest of two Oil Ministry officials, RIL staffer and two other middlemen for allegedly leaking classified government documents to energy companies for money by Delhi Police in a suspected case of corporate espionage.
The issue got murkier today with the arrest of five senior executives from top energy firms and two consultants as confidential documents including an input for the upcoming Finance Minister’s budget speech were allegedly leaked in the whole operation.–PTI
