SRINAGAR: While hitting out at Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s statement on rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley, JKLF chairman Yasin Malik today announced a sit-in on the issue on May 2.
“Home minister’s statement in the Parliament about separate colonies in the name of Pandits has exposed the double speak of PDP rulers in Kashmir,” he said in a statement here.
Malik was reacting to Singh’s statement in the Lok Sabha yesterday in which he said that Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had promised to give 50 acres of land as first installment for rehabilitating Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley.
“Blatant lies of the PDP cannot be-fool the nation of Kashmir. JKLF will organize a peaceful sit-in and procession against this idea on May 2 at Khanqah-e-Moalla,” he said.
The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief noted that the people of Kashmir, rising above their religious considerations and affiliations have rejected this idea.
“Kashmiris cannot remain silent spectators over these conspiracies that are being hatched to divide people in the name of faith,” he said.
Malik accused the Sayeed government to be “hell bent upon implementing the RSS agenda in Kashmir and it is their hidden motive to harm interests of Kashmiris”.
He added that there was credible information about the proposed change in state subject rules to make it convenient for people from outside the state to get state residency certificates. -PTI
