Amitabh Bachchan and Moushumi Chatterjee unite on screen after 36 years in Shoojit Sircar’s ‘Piku’, a family comedy entertainer. The veteran actors were romantically paired in the past in ‘Benaam’ (1974) and ‘Manzil’ (1979), which is best remembered for the song ‘Rim Jhim Gire Saawan’. However, in ‘Piku’, the actress plays Big B’s sister-in-law. The duo engages in a light-hearted banter.
Talking about his association with Moushumi, Amitabh had recently remarked that she has not changed a bit. ‘She’s still a live wire; when she comes on the set, everyone comes to know’, he’d said.
Moushumi, who returns to Hindi films after almost a decade, found herself more free and relaxed working with Big B. “Perhaps, it has got to do with age and also because we are at different stages of our lives. But otherwise, I didn’t find Amit any different. He is the same — professional, polite and affectionate, with his sense of humor intact.” She further adds, “As soon as Amit saw me, he exclaimed, ‘Oh, she’s my leading lady, our song still plays’; it was such a sweet gesture.”
