Sonam Kapoor has decided to expand her horizons and will now produce films as well. She will don the hat of a producer for her upcoming film ‘Battle for Bittora’.
While her father Anil Kapoor and sister Rhea are already producers, the actress said she was convinced by her sister to take this step.
Sonam said, “It was Rhea who convinced me to turn a proper producer now and have my name in the credit titles. She feels it’s high time.” The ‘Raanjhanaa’ actress also added that she would be involved in every aspect of production – from finances to research to costumes and casting.
‘Battle for Bittora’ is a social comedy directed by Shashanka Ghosh. The film again brings together Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan after Shashanka’s 2014 film ‘Khoobsurat’. It is a love story in the backdrop of political rivalry and is an adaptation of a book of the same name, written by Anuja Chauhan.
