DALLAS, Texas: The latest sensation in Telugu Movie industry and the third generation hero from Akkineni family, Akhil Akkineni received a grand welcome in a packed auditorium with roaring applause at Allen Performing Art Center on Oct 3 in Dallas by the Telugu community. The audio release function of his debut movie “Akhil” was attended by more than 1,000 people and was a grand success.
Hero Akhil, son of Amala and Nagarjuna participated in this special event along with music director Anoop Rubens, Producer Sudhakar Reddy of Shrestha movies and lyrics writer Krishna Chaitanya. This event was organized by Srikanth Polavarapu.
Dr Prasad Thotakura, Chairman of the “Akkineni Foundation of America” (AFA) released the audio CD of movie “Akhil” and presented the first copy to Akhil and later to Anup Rubens, Sudhakar Reddy, Krishna Chaitanya, Srikanth Polavarapu, Sudhir Tondepu of Classic Entertainments, Subba Rao Nilisetty, Rajesh Adusumilli, Murali Vennam, Chalapati Kondrakunta and other guests.
The attendees enjoyed three hours of continuous music and dance programs, emceed by Rajesh Adusumilli and famous TV Anchor, Gayatri Bhargavi. The event started with prayer song by Keerthi Chamakura, followed by “Deva Devam Bhaje” Kuchipudi dance. The Dallas singers sang wonderful songs from the movies of ANR, Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and Amala. The audience enjoyed dances by Harshit Vanam, Varun Karri, Naren Yalamanchili and Ravi Teja. Choreographed by Shanti Nuti and performed by thirty Dallas people, “ANR Nrutyashari” dance melody became a special attraction of the event.
Dr Prasad Thotakura, Chairman, AFA shared the local Telugu community about Dallas community’s special association with ANR and memories of his 89th birthday celebrations in 2012 during ANR’s visit to Dallas.
Akhil thanked all the attendees for their continuous support, love and wishes to his family and answered audience’s questions during the interactive session. Srikanth Polavarapu specially thanked Paramesh Devineni, Venkat Valleti, Hari Naidu Medarametla, Kumar Nandigam, Lokesh Naidu, Lakshmikant Gorrepati, Samba Dodda, Venu Pavuluri, Devi Mundluru, Satya Ravipati, Sesharao Boddu and others who worked relentlessly to make this event a grand success.
