CHICAGO: One of the leading senior associations in Chicagoland, Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Chicago completed its 10 years of services. The office bearers decided to celebrate the anniversary by hosting a gala function at Aaradhana Bhavan of Jain Society in Bartlett on Friday August 11.
The Chief Guests and Guests of Honor included Congressman Raja Krishnamurthi, Businesnessmen Chhotalal Patel and Shalli Kumar. It was also supported by office bearers of Federation of Indian Associations, Chicago.
The event started with lamp lighting ceremony and all the guests participated in it. Congressman Raja Krishnamurthi, Shalli Kumar, Sunil Shah Founder president of FIA and Mukesh Shah President of FIA in their short speeches praised activities being carried out by the seniors association and assured office bearers that they would extend their full support as and when needed.
Haribhai Patel, president of BS, in his address welcomed all the guests, dignitaries as well as members of seniors association and narrated all the activities being carried out by the association. He said, “We are looking for our own building so that we may carry out our activities in full swing and seniors may enjoy as well. We hope our community will support our project.”
A gala musical concert show of well known singer Aishwarya Majamudar from Ahmedabad was presented. She regaled the audience with old and new Bollywood film songs as well as Gujarati numbers.
Yet another highlight of the three-hour event was that Sunil Shah, Founder president of FIA, and Mukesh Shah President of FIA, presented a check of $ 25,000.00 as a donation and assured that his team will help seniors in future as and when needed. In addition this senior association collected $ 45,000.00 from sponsorship.
A grand dinner was served in the beginning and every one enjoyed it.
