SAN JOSE: Master Hindi film composer Pritam Chakraborty is touring United States for his first ever North American tour with over eight renowned singers and 35 musicians for raising awareness about opioid epidemic.
Known as Pritam, the composer, singer and musician has created some of the greatest songs and soundtracks for Hindi film music including Jab Harry Met Sejal, Dhoom Series, Dangal, Jagga Jasoos, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Dilwale, Holiday, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani to name a few. The incredible night of outstanding music on April 21 at Bay area will also feature performances by Harshdeep Kaur, Nakash Aziz, Shilpa Rao, Shafqat Amanat Ali, Shalmali Kholgade, Sreerama Chandra, Antara Mitra and Amit Mishra.
On April 15, Pritam addressed the media and fans at Aria banquet hall, Milpitas. Pritam said, in a first of its kind concert, a team of talented singers from India will collaborate with string & brass musicians from North America to jam together, welcoming the international culture. Adding to the excitement, the gig will also witness a contemporary twist with Gospel Choir from United States joining the music tribe.
The composer also spoke on his journey, JAM8, composing techniques, nurturing the local talents and Punjabi connection. As for JAM8, it is a first of its kind talent pool for music in India that aims to nurture and hone new talent in the music field and give them a platform to showcase their work.
