ST LOUIS: The Gujarati Samaj of St. Louis celebrated Indian Independence Day with a picnic mood at Lakeside Park in St Louis on Saturday August 18. Over 300 members and guests participated in this festivity with lot of joy and energy.
The picnic was different this time. Gujarati Samaj collaborated with Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center to organize a successful blood drive as well. Giving blood is one of the excellent ways to giving back to community. The Samaj collected about 19 units of blood.
The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center spokesperson observed, “Thanks for hosting a very successful first-time blood drive with MVRBC for Gujarati Samaj of St. Louis! We registered 30 donors, had 11 deferrals, resulting in 19 units on a goal of 12. Since each unit can be broken into multiple components, over 55 lives could be impacted from the donations at this drive alone! Thanks again to all involved on behalf of the donor recipients!”
All volunteers & Samaj Committee members were profusely thanked for organizing such a wonderful event.
