The Satya Narayana Mandir of Elmhurst, NY hosted a grand sacred Mata ki Chowki program during the auspicious period of Navratri on Sunday, September, 28, 2025 Morning. The temple hall was filled with devotees, who attired themselves with the colorful traditional costumes. Many youngsters not only wore traditional apparels but also danced to the tunes of Bhajans.

Temple priests, Pt. Hemant Ramrakhyani and Pt. Anand Tripathi Shastri started the Seventh Day Navaratri Puja with seeking blessings from Lord Ganesha the removal of obstacles. Ganesh Vandana was sung by them beautifully. Following this, they performed the Puja of Maa Durga in her seventh form as Maa Kaalratri, the fiercest and most powerful form of Goddess Durga by following all the Vedic Puja Paddati and chanting Vedic Mantras.

Many devotees were given the Puja Thalis and instructed to perform the Puja of Lord Ganesh and Durga Maa Murtis of their own with much devotion. Maa Kaalratri was revered as the destroyer of fear, darkness, evil spirits, and negative energies.

After the Puja, Shree Vijay Banjaraji and Group with Indu Gajwani were welcomed by the temple president Shree Jagdish Kakwani, also introduced them to the audiences.

The versatile singers sang beautiful and melodious Bhajans of Maa Durga and they made all the devotees to sing along with them and clap their hands expressing joy, praise, and triumph of Maa Durga. Clapping enhanced rhythm and activated energy centers, and strengthened collective connection with Maa Durga. Chanting Vedic mantras by the priests invoked powerful positive vibrations, attracted auspicious energies, and created a sacred, peaceful atmosphere within a shrine.

Many female devotees could not stop themselves from getting up and perform Nritya Seva to Maa Durga. Their dancing created a beautiful scene, often involving rhythmic, synchronized, and ecstatic movements that expressed spiritual love, passion, and harmony. The visual spectacle of devotees in dance can be both vibrant and moving.

Temple priests blessed all the devotes with Tilak and fruits. The event was such a success, with hundreds of devotees participating and soaking in the most spiritual, vibrant atmosphere, great positive vibes, and a sense of camaraderie, wrapping up at the end with a vast spread of sumptuous Maha-prasadam.

President Jagdish Ji expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to make this event such a success – all the singers and musicians, volunteers, devotees who cooked and served such a delicious prasadam.
