Man disguised as woman or woman in men’s attire is nothing new in Bollywood. But it looks like ‘Bollywood Khiladi’ Akshay Kumar wanted to go a step further. The superstar has now lip synced to a female voice in the song ‘Johnny Johnny’ from his upcoming film, ‘Its Entertainment’. The film marks the directorial debut of successful Bollywood writer duo, Sajid-Farhad and it was their decision to give the action star a female voice in the song.
The voice of Akshay Kumar in the song is that of playback singer Priya Panchaal. Jigar Saraiya and Madhav Krishnan have also lent their voices to the song. Akshay will be seen singing some crazy lines like “Haanji main peela di gayi” and “Maine pe nahiii.” The song is based on the popular nursery rhyme ‘Johnny Johnny’ and shares the same title. Its groovy music and funky video has become popular. The director duo explained their decision by saying, “Our song is light-hearted, in high spirits and everyone is in a party mood. In a small subtle way, we are showing our support for women empowerment…the lines are matching very well with Akshay’s attire and the mood of the song.”
