Aria University School of Medicine received a $1 million grant from The Ravi and Naina Patel Foundation to support the establishment of the School of Medicine to educate and train physicians who will serve the Medically Underserved Area of the San Joaquin Valley.
The Ravi and Naina Patel Foundation was founded by Dr. Ravi Patel, an oncologist, and Dr. Naina Patel, a cardiac anesthesiologist. In 1998, Dr. Patel and the young physician group built the Comprehensive Blood and Cancer Center, which provided state-of-the-art cancer care in Bakersfield, CA. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Patels has been involved in many philanthropic projects for local cancer patients, the Kern County community in general, and the world at large.
