FREMONT, CA: Bay Area Tamil Manram is a non-profit, non-political, and non-partisan organization. It has been serving the San Francisco Bay area since 1980. It was started as a group for like-minded Tamils to socialize and has grown into a strong organization of what it is now.
The success behind this organization is that it has adapted to changing times and needs of the Tamil community in these 25+ years. It is committed to the growth of Tamil cultural activities in the Bay area. Tamil Manram regularly conducts children’s events and encourages children to learn Tamil language and Tamil culture.
Last year , under the leadership of Dayanandan Venkatachalam and his team, BATM conducted various cultural events and fundraisers. Nov 17 – BATM – CIF Saaral fundraising for cancer institute;
Dec 15Â – Hackathon.
In 2019, the Manram has taken up its ambitious Tamil Cultural Center (TCC) project. It is an ambitious project to build a center in the Bay Area with class rooms, Tamil library, Tamil computing center and other infrastructure. It should be the first stop for any one with social, personal, immigration or any other problem.
BATM is also actively involved in fundraising for NGO Projects in India. Some of these projects include AKVIM – Safe Water Project for providing purified water; QM College – Renovation of computer lab which was affected by flood; Vetrivel Foundation – Renovation of Computer Lab, in flood affected area, and Gaja Relief Fund.
