NEW DELHI: Amid its efforts to bring back black money stashed abroad, government today said it has taken various measures to strengthen the enforcement mechanism by putting in place a robust legislative framework and using information technology for data mining.
Minister of State for Personnel Jintendra Singh said in the Lok Sabha that the government has taken various measures to strengthen the enforcement mechanism by putting in place robust legislative and administrative framework, systems and process with due focus on capacity building, and integration of information and data mining through increasing use of information technology.
He said a Special Investigation Team has been set up to unearth black money stashed abroad.
In a written reply, he said CBI had earlier proposed posting of Deputy Inspector General rank officer as Police Liaison Officer in seven Indian embassies abroad — United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America, Singapore, Mauritius, Canada and Switzerland to facilitate execution of request in criminal matters abroad and collect open source information on crime related activities.–PTI
