CHANDIGARH: Canada Sport minister today called on Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and discussed possibilities to further strengthen ties with the state in various fields including sports, agriculture, tourism and business.
Bal Gosal apprised Badal about the role played by Punjabis in Canada’s development and said their immense contribution in North America cannot be overlooked, an official release here said.
Gosal said Punjabis living in Canada can give a big push to the ongoing development in Punjab and assured Badal the Canadian government’s cooperation in this regard.
Bal Gosal, accompanied by his wife Pawanjit Gosal, was here to participate in the NRI Sammelan to be hosted by Punjab government on January 10 and 11 at Sri Anandpur Sahib and Jalandhar.–PTI
